Kolonel Dusartplein is a really well-known place in Hasselt. This central location is ideal for students. You are only a short stroll away from the universities and colleges of Hasselt and a stone's throw away from the provincial library. Only 1km (5min by bike) from the elfde Liniestraat, where mostly all the universities and colleges are located. 400m from various shops and public transport (to Hasselt, Station Diepenbeek, Station Hasselt ...).
But, with an eye on the vital need to relax, you actually live close to the vibrant bar and restaurant district on the Dusartplein and close to the cosy shopping streets. You are really at the heart of student life. In the street you will also find a supermarket, bakery and butcher.

Happy Meldert58 consists of 13 completely furnished luxury rooms/studios, spread over 3 upper floors, with private toilet, sink and shower, and a breakfastunit in the room with fridge/freezer and microwave. There is a spacious shared and fully equiped, modern kitchen and outdoor terrace in the garden. A really cosy place to live! You can get to know people in the spacious kitchen on the groundfloor. You can safely store bicycles in the bicycle storage.

Our monthly rental prices include internet and utility costs (water, heating, electricity, etc.). We charge 1 lump sum at the beginning of the academic year for the common costs (waste, periodic cleaning of common areas) and municipal taxes.

We are renovating this property into a modern & cosy Happykot. It will have 13 spacious room/studios. We open 09/2025!

Name of the student house perfectly describes it's atmosphere-I felt happy being there. Without any exaggeration, I can tell that landlords are the best. They were always there if we needed any help. They answered all our questions before and after the arrival. The location is very good, close to the University. Supermarket Aldi is near the house (you can walk there, or even take a bus). The bus stop is also close (around 5 minutes walk). Kitchen is occupied with everything that students might need to cook any kind of food. The bathrooms are always clean and the view from the garden is wonderful. I recommend to go outside during the golden hour and enjoy the sunset. The environment is very quiet- a perfect place to study. I'm glad that I had a chance to rent a room from Happykot. If I come back to Hasselt to continue my studies, I will definitely rent a room from Happykot again. Thanks for everything))))

This is hands down the best kot you’ll find in Diepenbeek! The room feels brand new, fully furnished, and you can even rent bedding, so no need to lug around any heavy stuff when moving in or out. The spacious layout adds a refreshing sense of openness. The kitchen? Fully stocked with every appliance and utensil you could need. But the real gem is the landlord—kind, responsive, and always there to help. I’m honestly sad to leave this place. The rooftop room is stunning, and the surrounding neighborhood has such a chill, nature-inspired vibe. The air is fresh, the quiet is perfect for studying, and the community is so friendly—one of the neighbors even offered me a ride when they saw me carrying groceries. Truly a home away from home!

Happy Russelbeeck was TOP . Mooie kamers , terras afgewerkt met degelijk overkapping en grote tafel/ bank . Fietsenstalling/ en gelegenheid voor de auto waren super. De communicatie , wat toch zeer belangrijk is , is fantastisch! Heel correct en een snel antwoord op je vragen . Voor ons zou Hans (Happykot) zeker behoren tot “ BESTE KOTBAAS” ! Happy Maastricht was ook super . Bedankt voor de zeer fijne samenwerking !

Staying at Happy Caster 4 was one of the best experiences I have had during my educational journey at Hasselt University. The student building is clean and spacious. It possesses all the necessary facilities required by the students. The kot is located close to a supermarket, laundry, night shop, and a park. Hasselt city center and Dusartplein are at walking distances. Liesbeth and Hans, the landlords, are the kindest and most caring human beings. They are always available to help and take great care of the needs of tenants. Overall, I am very happy that I stayed here and I would recommend it to any prospective tenant.

Staying at Happy Kastanje61 was probably the best decision I made during my exchange study for the 2019-20 semester in Belgium. The landlords, Hans and Liesbeth, are the kindest and the most generous people I met here in Belgium, who were eager to help with anything, even with small issues. The house is brand-new, furnished, and equipped with every facilities a student will need for making the living easier and more comfortable. The house is surrounded by such beautiful nature, so you will find walking in the fresh air in the evenings very addictive. Overall, I am very satisfied with the house which is a nice quiet place to study and rest!

Ondanks de coronaperiode hebben we een fijne tijd beleefd in Happy Dusart29. De contacten met de medestudenten lopen enorm vlot. Er heerst een fijne sfeer. We konden altijd terecht bij onze kotbaas. Nooit hebben we kunnen klagen over iets in het gebouw. Alles was altijd in orde of werd zeer snel in orde gemaakt. Als studenten opzoek zijn naar een goed en betaalbaar kot, raden we Happykot zeker aan. Alle comfort is aanwezig. Bovendien zal je niets hebben om over te klagen. Bij de koten van Happykot kan je puur genieten van je studententijd.

Fantastic location, walkable distance to the centre of Hasselt, train and bus station. Also well located with numerous restaurants, small shops and a laundrette nearby (5 minute walk). Lovely landlord- communicative/responsive, thoughtful and friendly (especially for international students like myself.) Lovely facilities! Safe, well priced, clean, tidy, spacious and homely- I couldn't ask for a better experience. The Happykot team made my time in Belgium incredibly comfortable and easy- thank you so much for your help throughout my Erasmus year! To anyone considering moving in- I hope you love Astrid37 as much as I do- it's a fantastic find!
